Top 100 innovative products of 2010

Popular Science magazine released its Best of What's New 2010 list on its December 2010 issue. The list covers 100 innovative products in 11 categories. Best products from each category also receive a Grand Award.

There are Apple iPad, Burj Halifa building, Intel Wireless Display, Porsche 918 Spyder, Solar Impulse aircraft, a Panasonic 3D-TV, a robotic vacuum cleaner & even a lifeguard bouy among this year's Grand Awards winners. But none of them could make it to the Innovation of the Year.

AquaPro Holland Groasis Waterboxx is recognised by Popular Science as Innovation of the Year 2010. The Waterboxx, an irrigation-free plant incubator, helps plants survive long enough to make it through the layer of dry soil. If you think about 70 percent of the world is full of arid and semi-arid lands you'll appreciate the importance of this innovation.
