How to keep the programs on your PC up-to-date easily?

Isn't it annoying when you want to run a program to watch an interesting video or view an important document your PC warns you to update to the new version? Well, how could you keep every program up-to-date on your PC anyway?

I found the solution on web site. A free client called The Update Checker scans your computer for installed software, check the versions and then send this information to to see if there are any newer releases. These are displayed in your browser for you to download. The Update Checker works on any PC running Windows versions from good old 98 to latest Windows 7.

I started using The Update Checker a while ago. Now I'm not interrupted day after day by DivX player or any other programs' update warnings. It also notifies you of Beta releases of new versions with advanced features. Neat...
