Now, this is clever! An iPhone application called Shirt Scan, launched by eco-friendly apparel and accessories manufacturer Anvil Knitwear, allows consumers to trace the origins of their products with mobile technology.
All you have to do is scan a T-shirt with your Shirt Scan QR (Quick Response) Code and unlock the content behind that shirt, be it in the form of articles, photos, and videos. Also you can create a virtual closet of products.
Shirt Scan can be downloaded for free from Apple's iPhone App Store or shirtscan.com. Applications for other mobile devices to be rolled out in early this year.
According to the press release Shirt Scan is an abbreviated version of TrackMyT.com, which Anvil developed for youth ages two to twelve that chronicles the life cycle of a t-shirt from seed to store.
